2012 Grizzly Bear Viewing Season

August 25 to October 20

On our Grizzly Bear Watching Journey we travel aboard our high-speed, covered vessel to the Orford River Valley located in picturesque Bute Inlet on the mainland of British Columbia. This pristine glacial river valley is home to an estimated 40 resident grizzly bears and is also the historic home of the Homalco First Nation, one of the Coast Salish tribes. Upon arrival you will be greeted by Homalco Aboriginal guides. We then travel along the Orford River Valley by minibus to specially designed platforms situated along the river in strategic locations ideal for viewing the mighty grizzlies. Here you'll have the opportunity to witness firsthand the autumn ritual of these bears feasting on spawning salmon in Canada´s true wilderness. Observation platforms offer great views and security so you can have a look into the lives of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

On this journey you may also have the opportunity to see orcas, dolphins, eagles, and other wildlife in their natural environment.

Be sure to bring your camera for a spectacular grizzly bear adventure that you will never forget!

Lunch is included on this 8 hour tour.

Cultures throughout the world believe that once You are ready to understand the lesson of an animal it will appear in your life. Each animal spirit speaks its own lesson and can be witnessed in the behaviour of the animal. What is each animal wishing to tell you?

Grizzly Bear Spirit – Found on the oldest cave paintings in the world the Spirit of the Grizzly bear speaks of: introspection, healing, solitude, change, communication with spirit, transformation, defence and revenge, a creature of dreams, shamans, mystics, visionaries an animal of wisdom.

Salmon Spirit – A Salmons sense of smell is more keen than a dog or bear. Salmons wisdom include the value of returning home to regenerate, swimming upstream through emotional waters to gain insight, rebirth of spiritual knowledge.
